BLOW BY BLOW WILL CHARGE 100% of YOUR SERVICE EVEN IF THEY CHANGE THE APPOINTMENT ON YOU, USE A DIFFERENT # THAN WHAT YOU BOOKED UNDER TO REMIND YOU AND YOU MISS THE APPOINTMENT (EVEN IF YOU GO THE NEXT DAY & SPEND EVEN MORE MONEY).
Blow by blow had to change an appointment I had scheduled for my mom so that I can make sure she gets to appointments because she has dementia. Since Blow By Blow changed the appointment, the reminder went to my mom’s cell phone which unfortunately is useless and she missed her appointment. I scheduled my mom the next day and she spent almost $400. To say we were SHOCKED to find out they had also charged her $250 for the missed appointment is an understatement. I’ve heard of some salons charging 50% for missed appointments but not 100%, especially when the client comes within 24 hours and spends a lot more money. If the appointment wouldn’t have been changed by the salon to begin with I would have gotten the notification and she would have made the appointment. The owner refuses to talk to us about it which is disappointing and horrifying to be honest. I even asked to put the money towards another service because my mom and I both go there and they couldn’t do a thing. I could understand if the salon was fully booked weeks in advance but when a salon has openings all the time, you’d think they’d be more understanding of the customers they do have.

UPDATE: I am SHOCKED & DISGUSTED again by this Salon. My mom insisted on going back (bc she has dementia) with her caregiver unbeknownst to us (We would have never let her go there again after what they did to her). Well… she went in for color and was charged $100 EXTRA because she was “so grey”!!! I’ve never heard such a thing and have asked a few salons and stylists because it doesn’t make any sense. If you’re coloring someone’s hair that is VERY THIN what is done differently with some grey or a lot of grey!? It’s all getting colored!!!! I’m SO DISAPPOINTED with Blow by Blow and hate talking poorly about any small business but I honestly feel like my mom was taken advantage. Shame on the owner Olga for taking advantage of any client but especially an elder with dementia and a long standing client and to not even have the decency to speak with us or return multiple phone calls.

I highly recommend a massage with Raisa. She's new to this salon and you won't regret booking a deep tissue or hot stone massage with her. In my experience, it's difficult to find a highly skilled and experienced massage therapist; Raisa is one of those rare practitioners. I've been a client for a few years and was happy to follow her to her new professional home in Highwood. A wonderful addition to what seems like a very well run business.

Extremely excited for Blow by Blow hair salon opening on North Shore Highland Park area. I have been to their Oak St location many times in Chicago and I am a definite blow-dry addict, as I have high standards when it comes to hair services. Blow by Blow specialists always exceeds those high standards; I got my hair cut with Olga and color balayage with their senior colorist here last week and it was wonderful!

The interior of their new salon is so stunning and reminds me of their Chicago salon with that beautiful warm feeling. The whole team was very professional and gave a great consultation in the beginning and used all-natural products.

I am definitely going back and highly recommend them as the new upcoming hair salon in this area!!!

I've been going to Olga for 10 years - if you want someone who takes time, listens, looks at ideas you found on Pinterest and gives you a great cut that you will get complements on, then schedule now.
You won't be dissatisfied.
PS. The salon is an airy, contemporary and beautiful place to relax.

If you want your hair CHOPPED off, Olga is your gal! If you want FRIZZY,
ORANGE highlights, then I highly recommend Sadaf!

You'll get your $ back but your hair will be destroyed for at least a year, if you're lucky!

DO NOT GO HERE I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!! RUN. I always get highlights, have been getting my hair done since 6th grade, I am now in my mid 20's.. I moved to Chicago and decided to go to Blow by Blow. THEY OVER PROCESSED MY HAIR WHICH IS NOW FALLING OUT AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT RIGHT. MY HAIR IS RUINED DO NOT GO HERE. also, they charge $40 to dry your hair after you pay $200 for a color and cut! Go anywhere else but here.
