Worse customer service from Budget at the OC Airport. We made a reservation for a midsize suv and got a Kia Soul. They charged us $20 dollars more than reservation was

Nach 5 Tagen bekamen wir eine Rückerstattung des Zuviel gezahlten Betrages. Das geschah aufgrund der von uns eingereichten Bewertung. Da wir schon öfters bei Budget am SNA Airport ein Wagen für kurze Zeit gemietet haben und immer mehr berechnet wurde als vereinbart glaube ich dass es mit System gemacht wird. Ich frage mich warum man mit solchen Methoden arbeitet und dadurch ein schlechten Ruf bekommt

If you like games, inefficiency and filthy products, you should 100% rent from the Avis / Budget / Payless Rental Car Group!!!

Second time in a month’s time span I’ve rented from the above group and the last. First was at nearby Ontario International where you’ll find a lack of lighting, signage and vehicles that have not been cleaned thoroughly. I shouldn’t be finding paper work for the last several customers and trash in the bed, clear as day.

At John Wayne, you can first expect empty counters with signs pointing you to other signs you just passed to figure out where you need to go like a children’s book having a varied path depending on what you choose. In this case, walk past Avis to get to Budget clear at other end just to get direct to Avis …and then directed outside.

There’s no separate priority lane or signage directing you to a set vehicle for higher tier member services. Even then, it was 40+ spaces down. Nuts. Get to the truck, and as you can see, bird poo all over. Dusty. Dents and scuffs. Older model Ram with no keyless entry or remote start, something you just become accustom to when renting in the last decade really. That part wasn’t make or break, but it is all about the details missed and that being cleanliness. The inside was nearly as dusty as the outside but you can’t tell with the poor lighting until its brought out. Cob webs and more and the inside of the window made it horrific at night to drive.

Whom ever is running the region, or at-least has ONT and SNA, it’s been several swings and misses on so many details. For that reason, Im out. There are other competitors for just a few bucks more that have met my basic expectations better. I still have yet to even get a vehicle type that matches what I rented, each time being a Tacoma with Avis / Budget / Payless yet getting a full size instead. No option given to swap into a 4Runner of similar wheel base size to the Tacoma. Im not opposed to full size, but I think others may be timid of a full size and renting a Tacoma for something they’re familiar with. I have no real purpose of needing truck utilitarian capabilities, I just like the Toyota chassis it sits on and is easier to maneuver for basic errands and mall crawling.

It took us longer to get a rental than it was to fly into California.

I chose Santa Ana and Budget to avoid LAX and now I wish I would have flown into LAX because it’s much quicker to get in and out.

I waited over an hour to get a car while other employees are laughing and taking their sweet time doing other things.

I had kids with me and waiting over an hour for a rental car is completely unacceptable. I should have paid the extra $300 to go with enterprise like I always do!!! But I didn’t to give budget a try and let me tell you never ever again.

I was asked to go search for a manager to see what the deal with my car was. Let me repeat that again….i was asked to go chase a manager around to see what was going on. When I finally saw a manager after going booth to booth she had no idea what I was talking about and just threw the problem to an employee and said to go see if we could find a van.

I wasn’t the only one with the same problem the gentleman before me was handed keys and asked to find his cars by clicking the alarm. I cannot make this up. He came back 4 times and still had NO CAR!

This service is completely unacceptable

Very long lines, but that’s not a reflection on Budget. There were a lot of people traveling. The car was filthy. The agent signed us up for protection we didn’t ask for, noticed the charges on the credit card. Called the 800 number and they did make it right. Rented through Costco and that’s an easy process

Jeep SUV was FILTY! smelly, lost of dog's hair everywhere, seats "sticky" for having some kind of liquid spelled. Windshield and windows very dirty.
Being there at 7 am, and with a 6 hours trip ahead for a funeral doesn't give you many options than clean it yourself. Video and pictures were taken, but by writing a review on Google, it doesn't let you include those here. For the future I'll do my best to take my business elsewhere. I do not reccomend this rental car company at all !!

This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I waited in line in the terminal for an hour while one employee slowly worked through the line. Then having been given paperwork I went out to the garage to wait while cars were cleaned and slowly given out. I’ve been at the airport 3 hours now and still do not have a rental car. I have rented from other agencies at John Wayne in the past and always had an exemplary experience. Budget seriously needs to revamp their process here at this airport. Would give zero stars if I could. Finally got a car. But not even a quarter tank of gas in the car. Beyond frustrating

Rented a 4Runner. Car is great. However, pickup was awful. Had people standing around in a dingy, noisy uncomfortable parking garage for over an hour for their cars (me being one). Would probably not do this again. Other rental agencies around were not having any difficulties getting people in cars.

Stood in line at inside counter for 30 minutes. Now i am in garage at express key pickup. He said at least 20 more minutes to get car key. Very poor customer experience.
